Giving Your Bedroom A Good Makeover

By:

Have you just surveyed your bedroom and felt bored just by looking at it? Do you find yourself often sighing out of frustration for the same old look you see? Do you wish you could sleep and relax in a different place but one that you can still call your very own? If only Donald Trump could give you a free pad in one of his Trump apartments...

To cut the long story short lets just talk about the 5 tips to redecorate your bedroom. They are very simple and show quick results. You could also visit an outlet that deals with home improvement products, for you to get your ideas rolling about home decor and may be pick up a few things later on.

First, organize. Nothing beats a clean and orderly bedroom or any room at that. It's time to put your clothes back to where they belong - the closet. Time too to place the books and magazines to where they should be - the shelf or rack. Those cosmetics strewn around might do your feet more harm than good, so pack them up in your cosmetics bag or organizer. Seriously, clean up your bedroom and see how it becomes an instant makeover technique. Your room will look like a brand new living space.

Second, choose your color. It's easier to decorate when you have a color to base your selections from. You can also pick out a theme if you can't decide on a color. If you're more of a contemporary gal, neutral shades or black and white are good choices. If you're more country however, cool and light colors look good. Artistic and bohemian personalities dig bold colors while the more old-fashioned and classic go with the clean, light hues. The color of the season whether in fashion or the real season (you know, the climate) is a trendy pick but expect that vogues change faster than you think. If you really like the color, then no problem! You can stick with it for a long time. But if you're just following the trend, think twice if you're willing to repaint every 3 months or so.

Next, choose your fabrics. Once you have chosen your color, selecting the beddings, curtains and area rugs for your bedroom will be a breeze. Incorporate texture as much as you can by adding small but relevant items like throw pillows, area rugs, drapes, etc. The natural softness of flowers also give the room a more elegant look.

Add a personal touch- Adding a personal touch to your furniture will enhance the ambiance. There is nothing like putting a jar of potpourri or a scented candle on a side table to go with the mood. Get family portraits done of special occasions, do just enough so as to not clutter the place. Hand made flowers do look attractive and are easy to maintain, so why not arrange one and place it in a pretty pot. A friend of mine even makes tissue and crape flowers to add her own touch to her bedroom.

Side table and shelves: If you don't have extra place in your house, such as a study room, make a study area consisting of a long table to also accommodate a computer, a chair and also your favorite books. If running short of space, a couple of shelves on the wall will not be bad, but will allow you to be more organized and at the same time give you leg space. You could also put your personal items over there.

Once all this is done you are sure to want to spend more time relaxing in such a beautiful setting!
