Giving A Poem As A Gift

Many people are hard to buy for when you are searching for that perfect gift. Maybe they already have everything or maybe you are looking for something that is more personal than the usual store bought presents that lack emotion or personality. A great gift to give is a poem.

The poem you choose to give to someone can be one you write yourself, or you can borrow one from a book or website as long as the original author is credited. Ideally, you should write the poem yourself so it is the most personal, but it does not always need to be written by you. Looking at different famous poets can sometimes give you inspiration as to which poem to choose.

If you'd like to give a poem as a gift, here are some ideas for making it more unique:

Frame It: If you've chosen a particularly meaningful poem, framing it is one of the best ways to share it with someone, because they can then hang it on their wall to frequently remind them of you. This often adds a nice classy touch to just about anything, whether you print it out from your computer, photo copy it, or write it out by hand.

Hide it Somewhere: Everyone loves to find hidden surprises. Writing your poem out and hiding it somewhere for someone to find can make it all the much more exciting to receive as a gift!

Attach it To Their Favorites: Does the person you are giving the gift to have a favorite food or hobby? Tying a special poem to another gift is a great way to add a lot of personality and customization to the standard store bought gift.

Give Them a Book: You can either make your own poetry book collection or choose from one in a store and write a note in it.

These are just a few of the many different gift ideas you can give to someone using poetry. With a little creativity, the possibilities are endless!
