Giutar Fx Helps You To Replicate The Sounds Of Your Heroes

By:

If you have picked up an electric guitar, it is a decision that is likely to have been influenced by a famous guitarist. There is no shame in this and the vast majority of guitarists around the planet started off by being influenced by a famous guitarist and having a desire to replicate their sound. This may lead to developing your own skills and sounds as a guitar player but there is nothing wrong with developing an interest in a particular playing style. Depending on the guitarist whose sound you like, there may be a need to buy a guitar FX pedal or two in order to really capture their sound.

When it comes to guitarists, there are probably few more highly considered and rated than Jimi Hendrix and he would use every trick in the book to get the right sound from his guitar. Given that he was known to play the instrument with his teeth and would even set it on fire at times, it is clear that Hendrix was willing to try anything but he managed to use guitar FX pedals in a way that really brought songs to life and made them sound like no one else in the world could play them. There are not many guitarists in the world who can replicate the music of Hendrix with the same passion and soul but if you are looking to get close to the sound of Jimi, choosing the right effects pedal can help you get a lot closer.

Every couple of years there will be a new direction in guitar music and one of the most influential came in the early 1990s with the rise of grunge music. There were a lot of bands playing under this umbrella but for most people, the pinnacle of this sound was Nirvana, with their front man Kurt Cobain - and his guitar FX pedals - at the very heart of it. The Nirvana sound owed a lot to the way that pedals could transform a song, adding extra overdrive and fuzz. In the live arena, the music of Nirvana and other grunge acts could be fairly chaotic, but when it interplayed with melodic singing and a strong rhythm track, it was magical.

You dont always need to use a guitar FX pedal to make your own sound, as the career of Angus Young or Joey Ramone will testify. However, part of the charm of these electric guitarists has been in the refreshing change away from the sound of many other acts. This is one way to go but there is no doubt that adding some effects or stomp-boxes to your style of playing can make a massive difference and really bring your music and songs to life.

There is no doubt that being able to use guitar FX can give a guitarist an added sense of confidence and help them to create a sound that is unique to them. It shouldn't be considered as a way of masking poor songs, but these pedals should be able to add an extra something to make a good song a great one.
