Fraser Island is accessible via Rainbow Beach (Inskip Point) or Hervey Bay.
Choosing whether to go via Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay will generally depend on
1. where you are staying on Fraser Island,
2. and tide times.


Generally if you are staying on the east coast of Fraser Island, most people tend to go via Rainbow Beach because most of the highlights of Fraser Island are generally more easily accessible from the East Coast.
However, if you are staying on the west coast at Kingfish Bay Resort for instance or the tide times makes it impossible to travel at low tide on the eastern beach, Hervey Bay is the best option.

6.00am to 5.30pm. The trip to Fraser Island takes approximately 10 minutes.
During peak period the barge may start earlier and finish later. The departure
point for Manta Ray Fraser Island Barge Services is Inskip Point, Rainbow

2. Fraser Dawn - Hervey Bay to Moon Point
