Getting The Timing Right For Tennis Hospitality Package Purchases

By:

Summer may be drawing to a close, but rather than grabbing the winter woollies, it's time to start making plans for next year's sporting action. Major tournaments and games often sell out way in advance of the actual games, and for ardent sporting aficionados, getting in quick is the key to catching the best sporting events. Here are three ways to get hold of tickets for next year's prestigious tennis championships held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, more commonly known as Wimbledon.

Tickets for the matches held here in early summer are notoriously hard to get hold of. This is because the tournament has a popularity which is worldwide. Tennis hospitality package tickets are often the only way that fans can guarantee that they will get to see some of the biggest tennis stars in the world pit their skills against each other on the infamous grass courts. Tennis hospitality packages not only guarantee a centre court seat, they also offer a slice of quintessential Englishness, which for many is what the tournament is all about.

The Wimbledon Championships are synonymous with strawberries and cream, afternoon tea, and a glass of the best bubbly. Buying tennis hospitality package tickets gives the spectator access to The Gatsby Club and VIP suites where the viewing action is first rate and the aperitifs flow freely. For many the addition of this type of hospitality is what makes the Wimbledon experience so special.

There are of course other types of tickets available for the tournament, and that is where pre planning comes to the fore. The majority of Wimbledon tickets are sold via a ballot, but to have a chance of getting a name drawn out of the box, applications must be made by the end of the year for the following season's matches. Obviously, there are far more people that try their luck at getting a ticket through the balloting system, but anyone who is unsuccessful has one last chance to get to see the matches.

For the first few days of the tournament, there are 500 tickets sold per court per day to an expectant queue who did not purchase tennis hospitality packages or manage to secure tickets via a ballot. Queuing for these tickets has become part of the tradition at the club with many people arriving the day before and camping overnight for a chance to get hold of an elusive Wimbledon ticket. If this fails, then it's time to plan once again for the following year's ticket sales or invest in tennis hospitality packages for a guaranteed centre court seat.
