Bicycle kicks begin by lying on your back with knees up in the air to form a 90 degree angle. Holding this position, put your hands on the back of your head and tense the abs. With the tensed abs, pull one knee to your chest while at the same time extending the other towards the opposite direction. Continue repeating this by alternating your legs for the whole duration of the exercise. You should really feel the effect of the exercise after doing about ten reps fast, then ten reps slow, and ten reps fast and so on. A good lower ab workout will have you repeat the process a number of time depending on how fit and able your body is.

It is important to remember that while you are performing these kinds of lower ab workouts, taking control of your routine is important. The more you stick to your routine, the faster it will be done and you will see quicker results. The quantity of your workout does not matter because what is more important is your understanding of the right group of muscles to work on and the proper exercise to use.
