Bathrooms and mold happen a lot due to all the water usage it is used in there. Mold can grow in the walls, around the tub, in the shower, on the ceiling, the floor, and under the sink. When mold gets in your bathroom it is not good because it can do damage to everything it grows on or in and it can affect you. Black mold is very toxic and it can cause you major problems with your health. Mold can do so many things such as eat into the walls, cause rotting, spread to other areas, release toxins, cause decaying, and peeling.

Mold makes things become ruined, damaged, or fall apart. If you see mold growth get rid of it. Clean it with bleach because this will kill it and the bacteria that comes with it. You can clean the mold up yourself if it is not really bad, such as if it is around the caulking of the sink, tub, shower, or toilet base. You might need to remove the caulking and scrub the area before you lay new caulking down. If you do not scrub the area, the mold can come back because the bacteria will still be there.

You will need to wear gloves and a mask when you clean out the mold so it will not affect you. If you see mold growing on the walls, you will need to scrub it down with bleach or another mold killing product to get rid of it and find out why it is growing there. Many times this means there is not adequate ventilation in a bathroom or even a kitchen. If mold is growing on the walls the walls, you must do the same procedure. If mold has reached the interior of the walls and studs, they may have to be replaced and the insulation as well. You will likely need a professional water damage or mold remediation company to come in and repair this damage and you may not be able to be in the house when they do this because mold spores can get in the air. You can tell when mold is in the bathroom by the smell or by the health issues you might be having.

You can get lightheaded, dizzy, have nausea, headaches, rashes on the skin, and your allergies can go haywire. Mold happens when too much moisture is in the room or when water stands around the tub, when it gets on the floor, overflows, or sewage back-ups. To stop mold from growing in your bathroom, you can wipe everything down after you take a shower, wipe the water off the floor fast if it runs over the tub, you can put an exhaust fan in, and you can open a window so the moisture can get out.
