Getting Good Mexican Food In Houston Can Be Like Shooting Fish In A Barrel

If you are in the Houston area looking for excellent Mexican cuisine, look on line for special places. There are, of course, some very nice little neighborhood restaurants along with the fast food places, but Mexican cuisine is much more varied and elaborate than most people know. Just like in the United States, different areas of Mexico have foods or specialized preparations from each different area.

Some of these very nice Mexican restaurants cater for weddings or any other kind of party that anyone might give for friends and family, and also do catering for business meetings and seminars. You can chose to have a specially prepared steak, or seafood, prepared in very special ways. And if you are looking for breakfast, juevos rancheros with a nice side of fresh avocado might just be what would taste best to you.

For lunch, you might have Caldo de Pollo, which is chicken simmered in Guaijillo Chili Broth with potatoes, carrots, cilantro and lime. For dinner, there might be a nice appetizer of shrimp in a special home made pico do gallo, and then grilled Salmon, specially seasoned and grilled just right, and served over Chorizo grits and finished off with a Poblano pepper sauce. Agujas De Res is a dish with grilled short ribs, basted with barbeque sauce and served over grilled onions.

For desert, you might choose a Tres Leches Cake, and they are made in different flavors, or a Flan Mexicano. There are also several wine regions in Mexico, so you may like one of the special ones served in a nice restaurant, or a Margarita or Mexican beer, there are several special brands. Most people who live in the United States are just aware of the nice tacos, enchiladas, and burritos served with a side of beans and rice.

All of these are tasty, but it would not be doing Mexican food justice to believe that those are the only foods in Mexican cuisine. Mexico is larger than any of the European countries and just as varied in the food prepared. Not all of it has a chili as its base, even if that is something that all restaurants do serve. Many people do not like hot food, so if you are with a group of varied people look for a place that also serves foods that are not as spicy as many people desire before making a reservation, even in Houston, Texas.
