Getting Charged For Cancelled Pick Ups

Chicago courier services handle many different pick ups and deliveries every single day. When a pick up is scheduled and then canceled, there is going to be fees assessed for the cancellation especially if it is same day. The fees will vary according to the individual courier service. Some fees will be as low as $30.00 when a scheduled pick-up is cancelled. However, there may be other fees assessed by the Chicago courier that you are using. These charges do not exclude the following: fuel fee, surcharges and other charges.

Another thing that will change the fees is if you are an account holder with the particular service that you are using. If you have been in good standing, the charges may be reduced. If you are a non-account holder, then your charges could be substantially higher. One factor is when you cancel the shipment or pick up. If it is done more than 24 hours in advance, then you may not be charged. However, on the same token, if you are not able to reach them before the driver comes, then a substantial fee will be assessed.

Each courier service will be different in what fees that you, their client, are charged. If you are currently with a courier service, they will have told you up front the cancellation fees for any pick up and what the charges will be. However, if you are not with one, you may want to ask about cancellation fees as sometimes a cancellation cannot be avoided. This is important information to know about as you will be the one charged in the event of a cancellation. The charges will often be lower for cancellations more than 24 hours in advance to 24 hours.

Any courier service will have designated fees for its couriers and cancellation. You are much better off when you do understand what charges and fees you are charged as well as why. This way, you will know what the charges will be for cancellation of pick up. Since pick ups are timed and scheduled tightly, the less time that you give them before cancelling the pick up, the more that you may be charged as a result. It is not really possible for all the cancellation charges to be listed for all couriers in Chicago. It is better to ask about cancellation fees and charges before you sign a contract for services. This way the cost is known beforehand and can be paid accordingly.
