Get Rid Of Infections Without Antibiotics

By:

The use of antibiotics have saved thousands of lives, however, the use of them has become so widespread making them overused and misused by millions of people. The overuse of antibiotics causes the immune system to become weak and resistant to them creating the "super strains" of bacteria now showing up all over the place.

The most common misuse of antibiotics is when they are prescribed for the common cold or flu, but they are only effective against bacteria. The cold and flu bugs are viral diseases and there is no way antibiotics will speed up the healing process or stop the infection.

Every time your immune system overcomes an infection, you become stronger by producing natural antibodies making you better equipped to handle future assaults on your health. If you are given antibiotics at the first sign of infection, your immune system becomes suppressed and fewer natural antibodies are produced.

This is why minor infections occur over and over again, requiring several treatments. When bacteria are repeatedly exposed to antibiotics, they begin to mutate and become immune to the drug's effect. Hundreds of thousands of hospital patients's die each year from infections caused by these drug-resistant bacteria.

Antibiotics destroy the good bacteria that live in your intestinal tract which help form vitamins, enzymes, deactivate cancer-causing compounds, regulate cholesterol and hormone levels and protect against the overgrowth of bad bacteria and fungi. This is why it is so important to replenish the good bacteria by eating cultured foods like yogurt and sauerkraut or by taking a probiotic supplement.

The side effects of NOT replenishing the good bacteria include:
- depression and fatigue
- parasite infections
- food allergies
- recurrant yeast or bladder infections
- constipation or diarrhea
- PMS symptoms, irritability
- lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
- eczema or psoriasis

There are natural alternatives that can help your immune system stay strong and fight infections. Here are some suggestions to consider:

1. Vitamin C - it is so important to get enough Vitamin C every single day - especially at the first sign of an infection. It can be taken every 2 hours and is effective in fighting both bacterial and viral infections.

2. Zinc - gluconate lozenges can lessen the duration of a cold and nasal congestion.

3. Aloe Vera Juice - is wonderful for ultimate healing from the inside out - look for a whole leaf aloe vera juice product.

4. Echinacea Tincture - is good to take at the first sign of a cold or flu infection. The tinctures are much more potent than the capsule form and a dropperful can be added to a little juice and taken every 4 hours. Do not take longer than 5 days.

Other natural, old-fashioned treatments include gargling with salt, saunas, chicken soup and of course, rest with plenty of fluids like water or hot tea. There is no question antibiotics can be lifesavers and are needed when your own immune system cannot handle the problem or the infection becomes life threatening. If there is any question, of course, see your doctor.
