Get Creative!

By:

Creativity in writing is not just a litany of ideas put to paper. It is a symphony of evocative images that combine to create images in the mind of the reader. You must maintain that creative edge if you want to produce articles that move your readers to action.

The main ingredient in an effective piece is creativity. While this may come naturally to many people, others think that they are not creative at all. Many writers sometimes get writer's block and just cant seem to get the creative juices flowing.

Creating imagery in the reader's mind is an skill that can be learned. A clear and crisp description requires a certain something that only creativity can provide. Literary tools help a lot, but the way an article gets constructed word by word, sentence by sentence then paragraph by paragraph into a whole makes the article a success.

Let's say you have the skills, but your mind is blank. What do you do? There is no guaranteed way to get the perfect idea, but there are easy ways to get your creative mojo working. No one can guarantee you a creative mindset but there are ways to help you achieve that state of mind. Here are a few:

Carry a journal

Ideas can be planted by anything you hear, touch, see, or smell. Your senses are your idea radar. Write all your ideas into the journal and keep it with you for future reference. Get a sturdy one that is not too small with nice paper for writing. You may also write down any quote or idea that you have read or heard, other ideas can be used to develop your own and this is plagiarism. Ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; its the development of the idea that makes it yours.

Relax

A cluttered mind doesn't have room for new ideas. Clear your mind if you want to have your creativity at the maximum. Get rid of all obstacles that can be a hindrance to your creativity. If you are worried about something, you cannot stay focused.

Take time for relaxation and think about your experiences of the day and the people you met. Your experiences are what shape your thoughts and opinions which are then reflected in your writing. Find out what triggers your emotions, what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these feelings to help you express yourself and your ideas, which helps you grow creatively.

Have a great work space

Your work place needs to make you feel happy and relaxed. Creativity comes from a good state of mind and a messed up workplace has distractions that wont be conducive to creativity.

Decorate your workplace with objects that make you happy and relaxed. Pictures, scents, inspirational items, or anything else that can get your creativeness going. A well organized workplace also minimizes distractions. Make a place where you can work in peace time will pass quickly.

Control the mood

Making a mood means to induce a feeling that makes your mind work best. Find out what makes you tick this will help you find ways to get your creativity going. Set the positive mood and everything else will follow.

There are many ways to set the mood. A sip of wine, mood music, or lighting can create the mood.

Get outta town

Go off and have fun it boosts your imagination. Take a hike, get outta Doge, blow this pop stand. Whatever is not usual to your daily routine can get you out of the rut and in no time your creativeness will make use of that experience and get your imagination going.
