Get An Online Income With Instant Income Success Article 6

Nowadays everyone who uses the Internet has the ability to create their own web page. As time has passed, the secrets have been revealed and the process simplified so that you and I can develop our own site without much hassle. For example, more and more people are blogging daily (as a hobby) because it takes them no time at all. Using WordPress, you can put your own site online and personalise it however you want. WordPress, in my opinion, is the simplest system to use.

The WordPress interface is easy to navigate around and attractive on the eye. It has each category clearly marked down the left hand side of the page and each section is really easy to find. However, don't be turned off by the simplistic appearance of your WordPress page because the resulting look of your own web page, when using the WordPress system, is really professional.

Type in your website URL followed by '/cpanel' to get on to your 'Hostgator' control page. From here, you can begin the process of installing WordPress. I'll tell you the simple way to do this now.

Once you're on your 'Hostgator' control panel, scroll down and click on the 'Fantastico De Luxe' icon (it looks like a smiley face). You'll be taken to another web page; here you select 'WordPress' and 'New Installation'.

You will need to customise some settings before the download is complete; in 'Install on domain' you should select your current web address from the drop down menu (the website that you want to create). Now, set up your log in details and 'Install WordPress'. When the download is complete, 'Finish Installation' and save your log in details to your Copy Sheet (remember we talked about this in article 2). Now click on 'Back to WordPress Overview' and you'll be shown a list of your website/s.

This next part is really exciting... If you go to your browser and type in your website URL address, see what happens! You'll be presented with your very own website live on the internet!

Ok, it may be fairly basic and will need improvement but, for now, just enjoy the achievement and success - the personalisation of your webpage comes after. This may be the first website you've ever created and, if so, you'll want to celebrate this moment. In terms of generating an online income, you are all now set to go!

Let's go on to look at the superficial aspect of your website - quite simply, we will just work through the stages of personalising your page to make it look more attractive. All of this customisation takes place on your WordPress page which can be accessed by entering your website URL into your browser, followed by '/wp-admin'

So, one of the first things we want to do is to change our theme page from the WordPress Default to something else. Click on 'Appearance' in the left hand column, and then select 'Themes' and 'Add new'. Now you can browse through the various themes on offer and choose to 'Install' the one you want. Then 'Activate' it and 'Visit Site' - you'll see the difference straight away. If you're not happy with your chosen theme you can easily change it.

Now, if you return to your 'Dashboard' and select 'Settings' and then 'General Settings'; you can alter the 'Title' of your site, the 'Tagline', the 'Time Zone' and other basic details. It's very easy to do (all you need to remember is to 'Save Changes')!

You will want your website to be categorised so that it's easy for your users to navigate around, this way they can quickly find what they're looking for. The 'Categories' section is found on the 'Dashboard' under 'Posts'.

Your category names will depend on the niche products you are promoting. For example, if I were promoting Golf products, my categories may include; Golf news, Golf tips, Golf Lessons, Golf equipment etc.

So, in the 'Categories' tab, enter the 'Category name' (this is the niche, i.e. 'Golf', aka the 'Parent' category). The 'Category Slug' should be the same as this.

Now, scroll down and 'Add Category'. Doing this allows us to enter the sub-categories (linking them all to the 'Parent' category). Naming the sub-categories is done in exactly the same process as before (ensure your 'Category Slug' is the same as each category name it appears). You can have several 'Parent' categories each with their own sub-categories.

Ultimately, you will see all of your recently created 'Categories' and 'Sub - Categories' on your website. They will be found on the right hand side of your screen (although even this can be changed if it does not suit your tastes). In writing, all of what we've done will seem to have been timeconsuming but, on screen, the instructions are really simple to follow.

(Note: You can delete the 'Uncategorised' item as it is a system default and not required)

Next time, we'll talk about... 'Plug-ins'. But, for now, good luck and good health! You're one step closer to the ultimate goal!
