There are a few different ways to get yourself a professional email address, each and every option will cost you some money, although the price that you pay and what you get for it may vary A LOT!
Getting a professional email address is relatively simple, you will need to own the domain that relates to the address you want, for example if you want to be you@you.com, you will need to own the domain you.com, Probably the cheapest and best place to buy a domain is at Namecheap, you can pick up a domain name for around $10 a year.
You will also need some hosting for your domain, I recommend Hostgator, this very site is hosted by them and they offer great customer service, you can host as many sites as you like on their shared hosting package and it only costs around $7 a month.
Once you have your domain and some hosting, you need to access your control panel, if you have used the Hostgator package that I recommend then you can access it via you.com/cpanel.
You then need to go down to email accounts in the mail options. And follow the instructions to create your new professional email address.
Once you have set up the address you will then want to either forward it to your personal email address or set it up to work with your email client (which I wont give you instructions for as each is very different and there are way too many to go through all of them).
To forward your
professional email address to a personal email then the process is very simple; go down to your selected email address in the list and select the more option then access webmail. Follow the options to add forwarder and then fill out the form adding the email address that you want to forward to.
From then on every email that you receive will be forwarded almost immediately to your personal email address, the great thing is that you can have as many email addresses as you want and forward them all to the same email address if you need to (for example, if you have more than 1 role at your company).
