The Gestetner DSc-435 not only operates at the impressive speed of 35 pages per minute for black and white print needs, it is also capable of not only executing a full color copy or print job, but doing it at the rapid speed of 28 pages per minute. With a color laser print speed this fast, the DSc-435 is hard to top, other than with Gestetners sister unit, the DSc-445, which can execute 45 and 35 page per minute prints in monochrome and color, respectively.

Gestetner also offers a slightly downgraded model, the Gestetner DSc-428, capable of 28 and 24 pages per minute for offices who wish to cut costs on ultra powerful print hardware. Regardless of the print and copy speeds, each of the three units come available with an amazing assortment of standard features and hardware expandability options.

No additional duplexing add on is neccecary with the Gestetner DSc-435, as it comes standard, along with not one but two 40 GB hard drives that are shared across print, copy, scan, and faxing functions and can store multiple types of input data indefinitely for continuous and constant use. Also included is a full 1 GB of shared RAM that should provide ample coverage of any print project thrown at the unit, regardless of complexity.

While copy and scan resolutions are locked at 600 x 600 dots per inch with 256 gradations for scanning, print resolution gets a huge boost up to 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. Via input limitations, super high quality copies are not possible, but when sourcing from a local PC, 1200 dpi resolution will keep text looking professional and clean, and full page color images looking crystal clear.

Scanning speeds run incredibly high when utilizing the default 200 dot per inch resolution, with 35 scans per minute in color, and an amazing 50 scans per minute in black and white. Of course, scanning this quickly is impossible to do by hand, and therefore requires the use of the 50 sheet automatic document feeder which is compatible with a variety of paper types. Other selectable resolutions run from 100 dots per inch up to 600 dots per inch in short increments.

The Gestetner DSc-435s paper handling abilities are quite good, with two standard 500 sheet trays included, along with a 100 sheet bypass tray for various media types. Output capacity rests firmly at 500 sheets plus an additional 100 sheet face up output tray. Buyers then have to choice between a single 500 sheet additional tray, a dual 2 x 500 sheet set of trays, or a large capacity tray with two 1,000 sheet tandem trays that bring the units maximum potential paper capacity to 3,100 sheets.

Other expandability options include a dual multi-bin and a choice between two finishers, one with an upper tray of 500 sheets and a lower tray of 1,500, and one with an upper 250 sheets and lower 750. The Gestetner DSc-435s list of accessories goes on and on, allowing users almost limitless print management options with this versatile machine.
