Geneva Mercedes Dealer Excited For May's Arrival Of The New E-class Cabriolet Convertible

Theres nothing like a Mercedes convertible to get your engines revving. Still, there is definitely a shaky market for luxury convertibles in the current sales climate, with automakers taking a beating over the 2009 year. What does the future hold for luxury brands? Well, Mercedes, BMW and Lexus are all doing their part to make history in the engine technology revolution, with all three brands offering their typical dependable, stylish vehicles on hybrid platforms. But is it enough?

Theres a lot to be said about a pretty car. And Chicago Mercedes dealers feature a lot of pretty cars. But that doesnt mean theyll ever leave the lot. Still, its hard to take a look at the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet and not be touched on some level by its awe-inspiring beauty. Introduced this year at the Detroit Auto Show, the E-Class Cabriolet has had Geneva Mercedes dealers reeling since they first gave it a look. This beautiful vehicle will be available to Chicago Mercedes drivers this May, when the car will make its international debut.

Mercedes executives lauded the new Cabriolet as one of the most beautiful cars on display at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. But, as we mentioned before, the market might be an obstacle that is difficult for Mercedes to overcome. Still, the Cabriolet is so wondrously powerful that it might be too overwhelming for luxury drivers to pass up, employing V6 and V8 engines to power the strong vehicle to amazing speeds. The inch-thick insulated soft top can open and close in a mere 20 seconds, with usable operation topping out at speeds of 25 miles per hour. For Mercedes sake, lets hope Geneva Mercedes dealers see a huge boost in sales for this sweet new vehicle.

Wind turbulence is no problem when youre cruising around in the new Cabriolet. The new wind deflection system, labeled Aircap by Mercedes, helps reduce cabin turbulence with a rising lip from the top of the windshield. Another innovative system called Airscarf cleverly directs warm air onto the necks of front passengers using headrest vents. That means you can take the top off in chillier weather, a fact that extends the Cabriolets convertible use through more months. New and used Geneva Mercedes dealers should see some big interest from higher level spenders when the car drops in the spring.

When the new Cabriolet eventually drops, Mercedes expects the E-class convertible will run you about ten grand more than hardtop models, weighing just under a hefty $60,000 for the V6 model and around $68,000 for the V8 model. New and used Geneva Mercedes dealers still expect some of their top customers to take the Cabriolet out for a test-spin and maybe even drive one off the lot. Still, we wont know until the car hits the market over the next year, so all we can do is speculate on the state of the industry over the coming months. If you have a little extra spending cash this spring, stop on by your Mercedes-Benz dealership.
