Nail Art Designs have become a fashion fad with most women and youngsters and it isnt unusual anymore to spot women wearing attractive designs on their nails. But before your nails are adorned with beautiful nail art, it is important to ensure you have a beautiful set of nails. Now the prerequisite isnt anymore to be naturally born with beautiful nails, you can even acquire them through advanced techniques that are easily available. A visit to the nearest professional nail salon will reveal to you the popularity of UV gel nails and its proper application that can bestow your hands with a beautiful set of nails. Creating a perfect set requires professional expertise and it is advised that you dont try this by yourself and allow the technician to weave his magic on your nails. Possessing artificial nails through UV gels is a 3 step process or also known as Bonding, Building and Finishing UV Gels.

The first step is to apply bonding gel, which needs to be brushed on the complete nail except for leaving a little perimeter towards the cuticle and sidewalls. This little space gives you space to taper it later and then the nail needs to be cured under the UV light for about 2 minutes. Before the nail is cured, it is important to make sure that the excess blot is wiped with a dry nail wipe and then it is cured. There are quite a few types of primer/bonding gel that is available in the market. Usually the bonding gel is used in a concentrated form and it can be combined with any other gel as well. This bonding coat strengthens your nails and helps in protecting them from chipping, cracking or peeling.

The next step is to apply builder gel. The builder gel is usually available in white or pink color to match the skin tone and the original nail color. This is more of a self-leveling gel and helps in forming the perfect set of artificial gel nails. A small amount of this gel needs to be placed in the center of the tip and then it needs to be worked towards the smile line and be shaped accordingly. It is important that the gel is applied thin on the nail edges. A filbert shaped synthetic brush should be ideally used and once you have refined the smile line, allow it to cure for 3 minutes under a professional UV light of 36 Watts.

The last step in acquiring those much envied nails is finishing. The finishing gels are available in a number of colors including French beige, French natural, French pink, French white and clear finishing gel. Apply the gel in the same way you would do with nail polish by gently directing the brush towards the free edge and then seal it by swiping the brush across the leading edge. Do ensure the brush is smooth and fine and that it is doesnt have splitting hairs in order to avoid an uneven surface. Once the finishing gel has been properly applied, the nails need to be cured under the UV light for another 2 to 3 minutes to make them firm and smooth. The finishing gel literally adds a finishing touch to the nails and enhances the overall look by making them appear shiny and glossy.
