The most prestigious tennis tournament "Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters" with total prize money of IDR 500 million is in the second year and successfully managed by Sportama from November 25 "" 29, 2009 at the Executive Club Tennis Complex, Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.

"Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters" in its first year is making a history as the biggest prize money tennis tournament in Indonesia. It is also the peak of the 5 open tournament in "Garuda Indonesia Tennis Series", which is founded and managed by Sportama with the main sponsor of the national carrier "Garuda Indonesia". The 5 tournaments in the series have been conducted and organized successfully starting with "Okeshop Tennis Open" and followed by "Alfamart Cup", both held in Jakarta. The 3rd tournament was "BTPN Tegal Open" in Tegal followed by "Bukit Asam Open" in Palembang and lastly was "Sportama Solo Open" in Solo, which is ended on November 1, 2009. Each of the series provides IDR 150 million in prize money.

"Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters" is clearly the peak tournament at the end of the year because only 8 players men and women with the highest points from at least 3 of the 5 "Garuda Indonesia Tennis Series" tournaments are eligible to play.

In this most prestigious tennis event, 8 players are divided into 2 groups. There are Garuda and Rajawali group for men and Cendrawasih and Merak group for women. For doubles, there are Elang and Kasuari groups with 4 players in each group. Meanwhile, women"s doubles only has 4 doubles pairs.

In these 3 events (men"s and women"s singles, and men"s doubles), the round robin format is used and then the winner from each group would face the runner-ups. Only women"s doubles is using elimination round.

Men"s singles winner is successfully defended by Christopher Rungkat and Nesa Arta as the runner up, the same results from 2008. Women"s singles winner is Ayu Fani Damayanti, who beat the 2008 winner Lavinia Tananta. Men"s doubles winner is Christopher Rungkat / Nesa Arta and Andrian Raturandan / David Agung takes the second place. Women"s doubles first place is Jessy Rompies / Beatrice Gumulya, who beat Ayu Fani Damayanti / Lavinia Tananta in the final.
