Fv4379 - Fv4379 Still Enamoured After 6 Weeks!

As an owner of a small textiles business where I am literally with the iron on-and-off up to six/eight hours a day, it's possibly not fair to put an iron at this price through what I do to it. But, this little number delivers like a pro. After owning it now for two months, I can tell you I'm thrilled with the performance of this iron on every level.

First of all, it's SUPER "glide-y" -- I can put the iron down and literally let it slide on its' own across the fabric from my left to my right hand. The surface of the iron is COMPLETELY amazing. Second, everything written about the steam capacity is true. It delivers even, powerful steam and, can be adjusted down or even off. This is helpful when I'm working around a tight spot and my fingers are really close to the iron. Third, I wondered what it'd be like to clean the thing: I'd never had a good enough iron in the past to require such a duty. It was easy, not messy at all and required a quick read of the directions and a small glass of vinegar.

One additional plus for me is the cord design. I'm left handed and I worried about other irons with the cord coming out the side. Since it feeds out the back it's a non-issue. And the triangular base is rock solid! I also haven't found the weight of the iron an issue, obviously it's heavier when filled with water but it's not tedious. I think this issue could be relative to what type of iron you've had in the past. It's only slightly heavier than my old one.

Finally, there been a few comments about filling the FV4379 iron with water. For me, it couldn't be easier. The FV4379 iron top is basically one giant reservoir so I can watch as I fill it.

The only thing for me -- and this is specific to my needs because I am toggling between the iron and the sewing machine all the time -- is that it turns off all the time. On the plus side, if you're just ironing clothes and walk off, you're guaranteed it'll help you by turning off, which is great at that "did I?" moment fifteen minutes later in your car heading to work.
