Fur Lined Leather Gloves Are Very Useful

By: Charles Cox

Have ever had to clean snow off your car, or maybe the kids instigated a snowball fight, but your gloves got so wet and the cold that it went right through to your fingers? Many of us have been in that situation more than once. But if you were wearing fur lined leather gloves, your fingers would have stayed warm and the water would have stayed on the outside of your gloves where it belonged.

You just can not ask for a warmer pair of gloves than one that is lined with fur. Even on the coldest, harshest times of winter, you will be safe from frozen fingers and frostbite when they are covered in fur. But will not the leather get ruined from the wet snow? Actually, the better fur lined leather gloves are treated with a waterproofing agent that will protect them from the wet snow and ice. Now that does not mean that you should go right out and submerge them in ice water. You should remember that each time they get wet, they will lose a little of the waterproofing treatment.

The good news is that you can get waterproofing treatment and treat your fur lined leather gloves at home yourself. If you do it a couple of times through the winter, then the gloves should last you a very long time. You will not have to buy another pair of gloves for years and year, or until you lose one of the gloves. If you could find an identical pair of leather gloves, then it might be a good idea to buy an extra pair, just in case you lose one of the gloves. Perhaps you could buy two or three pair of these gloves at once and keep the rest as backups.

These types of gloves are great for driving too. Those made of fabric, if kept dry, will help keep your hands warm when you touch the steering wheel in the car, but if they are made of leather, they will repel the cold even better, especially if they are lined with fur.

Have you ever driven with fabric gloves and had the steering wheel slip from your hands while driving? Needless to say, this can be very dangerous. But this will not happen if you are wearing fur lined leather gloves while driving. The leather will grip your steering wheel even better than hands without gloves. Driving gloves are always made of leather.
