3 Ways Full Time Dads Can Create A Business From Home

It is a hard fact of life that when you start a family one of the parents has to give up work for a certain amount of time, unless you can afford a full time carer or have a retired or non working family member who is willing to take on your litle bundle of joy full time to enable you to go back to work. If you have none of these things it is inevitable one of you will have to give up work.

If you are part of the majority, the "giving up work for the foreseeable future" option is the only one available. This usually has a dramatic effect on the house hold funds, even if there was only one income coming in to the household in the first place having a child is not cheap.

My wife had a little boy a couple of years ago we were both working full time we weren't very wealthy but we were doing just fine! when my wife announced she was pregnant it was wonderful news, but in the back of both our minds was the little niggling thought about who was going to take on the role of full time Mum, my wife was desperate to do it, me being the alpha male was desperate not to do it. In fact I could think of nothing worst. Don't get me wrong I was looking forward to being the "family man" I would come home pat little Johnny on the head go to the fridge open a beer kiss, my wife (not necessarily in that order) sit down have dinner, end my day in front of sky sports HAPPY DAYS!

Unfortunately life has a habit of turning everything inside out, and before I knew it I was in the middle of a recession with absolutely no work, you know the type time rich cash poor!

My wife bless her had to go and steer the corporate ship, after all she built it and without a rudder and a captain the business was doomed to flounder on the corporate rocks, so by default she had to go back, and I was left literally holding the baby.

I had three problems with this

1. I'm supposed to be the bread winner.

2. I don't like taking money I haven't earned in the traditional sense (male pride).

3. I felt I might be in for a bit of stick from the boys.

I realised that to hold on to some sort of independence I would have to find work that I could do from home, Stuffing 1000,000 envelopes for £1.00 didn't appeal so I looked at what other home workers were doing, doing surveys, wasn't enticing either, but creating an income selling something on the internet did appeal. I did a lot of time consuming research using the internet, and decided the earning potential was there if it was done right.

I have listed a few ways to earn money using the internet to earn an income with an explanation of what they mean. As little or as much as you like.

Affiliate Marketing

Every time a potential client registers at the merchant's website as a result of the advertisement on the affiliate's account, a previously Determined amount is deposited into the affiliate's account. For many website owners, this is a great way to earn some extra money without actually Having to "do" anything. All it involves is placing an ad on the affiliate's website. There is no telesales,direct selling or big marketing campaigns to do. The affilite can enjoy watching the bank balance filling up.

Drop Shipping

Drop shipping is basically using online auction sites and other areas where you can sell your products. These products you don't actually have. You join a service which is known as a drop shipping company and they will host a all the products and when you sell something, they will dispatch it straight to the buyer. Effectively you get a commission from this, potentially making for quite a nice income. Drop shipping is something that is very easy to get into but it has dropped in popularity in recent years simply because there are various other opportunities out there which tend to be considerably better.

PLR Products

Private label rights packages are software and eBooks that are created by someone else and then sold to buyers around the net. The special thing about PLR is that when you buy the package, you get the product rights along with it.. You can re-sell it, edit it, or spin it any way you want.

I must admit it took me quite a long time to do the research but in the end I got there and does it work? yes it does, does it affect the way I look after my son? no it doesn't. It takes about 2 hours a day to do what I need to do, and I can do that from anywhere and at anytime, as long as you have a laptop with you or computer.
