Ft. Myers Volvo Xc90 Dealership May Offer A Compact Crossover

If youre like me, you must be pretty excited about this new crossover revolution. A lot of us like some of the practicality of a big SUV but hate the way it drives. Others of us just hate the way these cars take up space on the road. If youve ever driven a Chevy Suburban, the experience of parking is akin to parking a boat in a dock spot. In other words, it takes a long time, its clunky and it weighs a ton. For Volvo fans, it turns out that your Ft. Myers Volvo XC90 dealer will be entering the running for the crossover segment sooner than you might think.

First, the humble beginnings of the crossover revolution from my perspective. Well, we all remember the economic issues of the past several years. In fact, some of us are still being heavily affected by them. If you also remember, the car industry, especially the Big Three, were railed with heavy losses, forcing many manufacturers to declare bankruptcy. While Volvo wasnt taken to that extreme, your Ft. Myers used XC90 will remember the heavy sales hit it took, and not very fondly. A huge part of the automotive industrys recovery was the embracing of much more fuel efficient technologies for maximum eco-friendliness and perhaps just as importantly less out of pocket gas expense for drivers everywhere. These were the factors that led to the adoption of the crossover, which will debut at your Ft. Myers Volvo XC90 dealership in the next few years.

But we skipped a step. Somewhere in there, we missed when the crossover began replacing the SUV. Well, with fuel efficiency taking such a huge step into the market, it suddenly made sense to adopt a small car platform to help promote that fuel efficiency, a fact of which Ft. Myers used XC90 dealers are well aware. So, for those of us that still enjoy practicality, the crossover emerged as a worthwhile contender to the traditional SUV truck. Whew. That was a lot of history.

So BMW has already done it with the BMW X1, and Volvo is hard at work on a crossover that will be based on the C30 hatchback. Sounds like the name of the new model will be the XC30, riding on a slightly taller version of the C30 chassis. According to Ft. Myers Volvo XC90 dealers, it looks like the car will have styling more similar to the XC60 CUV. Thats not all that is in the works, though. Rumor has it that Volvo is working on a five-door wagon version of the C30 as well (potentially named the V30). The crossover version, however, is rumored to drop on new and used Ft. Myers XC90 dealers by 2012.

Until then, well just have to sit and wait with the vehicles we already have on the market. But the future looks bright for the crossover, and we certainly dont expect to see these models going out of style anytime soon. Check one out today.
