Ft. Myers Cadillac Cts May Be Available As A Hybrid

I was watching Back to the Future II the other day, and I was thinking about all the differences between the movie and where we are today. Its odd to think, but some of the predictions made by the classic 1989 flick arent terribly far off from the realities. For instance, remember how Doc Brown gets a Mr. Fusion installed on top of the time machine for turning trash into fuel? Okay, were not exactly there yet, but that seems to mirror the automotive industrys new goal as of the last few years. Maybe Doc wants to hop in the DeLorean, take a spin back about a decade and stop the recession from ever happening? Might be too much to ask.

No, the Doc was never a real person, but Cadillac is a real type of car, and the luxurious brand just announced a new possible engine in development by manufacturer GM. And boy could GM use a win. You might have noticed this past years pummeling of the Big Three; its not like it wasnt on every television every second of every day. Well, GM was probably one of the worse off automakers closer to the beginning of the recession, but the companys renewed focus on smaller cars and fuel efficient technology has helped propel it back into the positive side of the media attention. And Ft. Myers Cadillac CTS dealers might get to see some of the benefits over the coming years.

While GMs two-mode hybrid system, an engine that could successfully power an SUV-sized vehicle with sedan-like Zen, has met with little commercial success (probably due to a slightly ridiculous price tag). But that isnt the last weve heard from GM or that specific technology; new reports indicate that GM is working on a new electric motor that will reduce its size by 25 percent while upping the power by 20 percent. With these capabilities, Ft. Myers Cadillac CTS dealers can expect to see solid fuel efficient engine capabilities in smaller vehicles within the Cadillac lineup.

Unfortunately, Cadillac execs announcing the new production engine said we wont see it hitting the streets until around 2013. But, when we do, well be seeing lighter vehicles with a much better affordability. For Ft. Myers used Cadillac dealers, the future cannot come soon enough. We will, however, continue to see the same technology featured in larger SUV-type vehicles. When it finally hits the smaller vehicles in the lineup, Id expect to see it in the CTS and ATS models both of which will make fitting homes for the wonderful new technology.

Cadillac is a great example of a company that is really embracing the fuel economy revolution in the face of a target audience that often focuses on power. It would seem that the luxury cars have to work twice as hard to find ways to uphold their reputations for power and performance, especially with new fuel technology at such a young age. Ft. Myers used Cadillac dealers are still great places to go when you want to buy a solid car.
