The CTS Coupe is the new focal point of Cadillac, expressing both our design and technical capabilities. It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts. "And it's different than the sedan, said Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager of the new 2011 CTS Coupe. Cadillac, who has always been one of the leaders in creating luxury cars, as once again created a luxury vehicle that stands out from its competitors. The Ft. Myers Cadillac CTS coupe is a derivative of Cadillac's CTS sedan, which has become the mainstay model for General Motors' 108-year-old premium division. The 2011 CTS coupe now forms one third of the CTS family and is definitely the most unconventional looking of the trio.
The 2011 CTS Coupe is going to be available in dealerships this June and Cadillac has recently put up order forms online so you can mix and match what packages and features you want your Coupe to come with. You can choose from two packages, the base Performance Package and the Summer Tire Performance Package. The base Performance Package comes with 18-inch wheels and all-season tires. The CTS Coupe will also be offered with a choice of rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive on the Performance Package. Consumers will also be able to opt for a Summer Tire Performance Package, riding on 19-inch tires. The Summer Tire Performance package will be only available with sunbelt-friendly rear-wheel-drive. A rear limited-slip differential is standard regardless.
The standard engine at launch will be General Motors' direct inject 3.6-liter V6 producing 304 hp and 273 pound-feet of torque. Expect 17 mpg city/26 mpg highway when paired with GM's optional Hydra-matic 6L50.
Consumers will also get the choice of adding Cadillacs various advanced technologies to their Ft. Myers Cadillac CTS Coupe. These technologies include, Integrated iPod/MP3 capability, 40-gig hard drive, including the ability to store music, and pause-and-replay live radio, pop-up navigation system, adaptive forward lightening system, Bluetooth connectivity, standard keyless access and smart remote start, rear camera system, Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround Audio System and the CTS-V sedans 14-way Recaro sports seats. When it comes to design of the 2011 CTS Coupe, Max Wolff, director of exterior design for Cadillac says, Cadillac has always been an emotional brand it's about delivering art regardless of body style. With the CTS Coupe, it was about taking something very strong the CTS Sport Sedan and extending its potential." The 2011 CTS and the sedan share the same platform, but the lowered roofline means a two-inch reduction in height and overall length on the CTS is two inches shorter than the sedan. The 2011 and the CTS also share the same instrument panel, console, headlamps, front fenders and grille. Key design features on the 2011 CTS include touch-pad operation for the doors that removes the need for conventional door handles, sculpted lower front fascia with unique brake-cooling vents, diamond cut-style real fascia with mesh lower grilles, center-outlet exhaust with twin dihedral-shaped tips that pass through the rear fascia, and a rear spoiler integrated into the center high-mounted stop lamp.
Consumers can now go on-line now to choose what they want their 2011 CTS Coupe to come with and the car will be available to take home in the next couple of months.
