The concept is that most Americans dont really take the time to savor and enjoy their food, despite the fact they eat so much of it. Her advice, make each meal a gourmet experience where you slowly savor and delight in each morsel. By taking the time to truly enjoy your food, you wont need to eat nearly as much, and the end result will be pounds off, without having to follow a strict plan, or eat foods you dont enjoy.

Pros

Flexible: This approach to weight loss allows you to adapt it to any environment you are in. Restaurant eating, and cooking for kids can still have you savoring each bite, and not eating as much.
Portion Control: The main reason this diet helps you lose weight has to do with portion control. If you eat half as much food as you do now, youll likely drop some pounds
Cons

Lack of Structure: Some people need a little more guidance in terms of designing meal plans. Giving people the vague admonition of eat less doesnt always help.
Slippery Slope: Weight loss for many can be a study in self denial. Its easy to tell yourself that youre following a plan when there is so little structure involved, when in fact youre still eating too much, and not losing the weight.

This diet is ideal for people who are not obese and have not spent their childhood or long periods of their adult life fat. If youre a normal person who has put on a few pounds , and now wants to lose them, this could be the ticket for you. If however you have had a lifelong struggle with weight loss, and have tried many programs before, this will likely not give you the structure or the plan to help you succeed in the long term.
