If you'd like to make money writing, it's easier than it's ever been. There are hundreds of thousands of websites online eager to hire you today. You can set up your own full-time career quickly.

Do you need writing talent? Beginning writers always worry about talent. Here's what's more important: the desire to write, and the determination to sit at your computer and do it. Writing is a skill you develop the same way you become skilled at anything: with practice.

My own freelance writing career stretches across three decades. I wish I were starting out today; it used to be frustrating and exhausting to write for years with nothing to show for it.

You're lucky. You have endless opportunities. All you need to do is get started, and you'll start to sell your services very quickly.

Let's look at the process.

1. Blog. Get a free blog (many sites provide this), and start to write. Write about anything you choose, but be consistent in your efforts. Your blog teaches you to write every day -- this ability is essential for a freelance writer.

While you're doing this, explore blogs online. There are huge multi-blogger blogs which earn millions in income, and many more tiny one-person blogs which make next to nothing. You'll realize that blogging is easy, and that you can indeed write.

2. Your next step is to become part of the huge community of bloggers. Interact. Comment on others' blog posts. Write sincere and helpful comments, not junk comments like: "enjoyed your blog."

Choose several blogs on which to leave comments over a couple of weeks. This gets you known on these blogs. Contact the bloggers, and ask to guest on their blogs. (You write a guest post.)

3. Got confidence? By now, you should be feeling good about your abilities, so offer your blogging services for small payments. You'll get clients fast.

Yes, these initial writing jobs are tiny, but they give you gifts which are work more than money. You'll get comfortable with people who hire you, and you'll establish yourself.

The above process is straightforward; deliberately so. Please realize that it works, and that it will help you make money online and develop a profitable freelance writing career.
