Freelance Writing Bonanza: Make Your Fortune Offline And Online

Considering taking up freelance writing? Do it. You have an amazing array of options open to you: there's more than enough work for everyone. If you're a new writer, start with confidence. If you're writing in your day job, you'll soon realize you can make more money as a freelancer.

Consider that to write, you don't need to spend any money. You have a computer, a text application (you don't need a word processor) which comes pre-installed on your computer, and an Internet connection. It's quite possible to have money in your PayPal account within hours, if you know where to look for opportunities.

I've been writing for over 30 years. I wish that I were just starting out today, or that I could clone myself, because there's just so much available.

In this article, let's discuss two opportunities which are hot right now. The first one I'm sure most writers never consider, and the second one most writers either overlook, or never approach in the best and most effective manner.

1. Go and find your copy of the Yellow Pages. It's a goldmine for writers. Many businesses hire writers, usually through agencies. However, they're very amenable to working with writers directly, because it's easier. Are you aware that business writing jobs pay more than magazine writing jobs?

The material which your local businesses need includes: a website, more content if they already have a site, press releases, newsletters, email messages to their customers, and online and print advertising.

2. Get started on the outsourcing sites -- it's well worth it. My most successful students, who are earning much more than they ever earned in any day job, all got their start on the outsourcing sites. In general, writers fail to give these sites the respect they deserve.

The major benefit of these sites is that you can get as many writing jobs as you want. Be patient. Take the time to learn how these sites work: it's a big investment in your future.

Want a suggestion? When you're bidding on project, ensure that your proposal includes everything you'll do if you win. The buyers care about their projects -- they're not interested in your writing experience.

Yes, freelance writing can be a bonanza for you, if you focus on the opportunities we've just discussed. Start today, and you can make much more money than you can make doing anything else.
