If you are also tired of trying over the counter products that don't seem to do much to relieve the symptoms, then you may want to consider a natural treatment for eczema. These natural treatments can be just as effective if not more so than any product you might find in a drugstore.

An easy way to do that is to keep your skin well moisturized. Use an all-natural body lotion without additives daily. This is particularly important after you get out of the shower or anytime during the winter months when your skin is dry. Moisturizing your skin will help prevent the dry itchy patches that are characteristic of eczema from appearing.

Two tablespoons of molasses should be taken twice a day in a glass of milk to cure eczema. You will be able to see improvements in two weeks time.

This treatment also works wonders for eczema infected skin. This is done by making an oatmeal paste, and applying it to the affected area and leave it there for approximately 15 minutes once a day. Oatmeal paste can be concocted by mixing oatmeal, milk and water until you form a pasty substance and can be applied to the eczema. This concoction provides soothing relief for eczema ridden skin.

Another very good eczema treatment for children is taking oatmeal baths. Oatmeal has an calming effect on the skin and lukewarm water should also be used, the only difference is that baths should be a bit longer. So add 2-3 cups of oatmeal to the bath, even the oatmeal found in supermarkets will do just fine.

Researchers have yet to identify an exact cause of eczema but there are known irritants which may trigger an outbreak so avoiding these can also be beneficial. Another natural remedy that works is by taking a 15 minute bath in warm water containing two cups of powdered oat. Be sure to implement these methods above if you want relief from this irritating skin condition.

Strawberry paste is also used for treating eczema. Prepare a paste of 3-4 strawberries and apply it to the affected area, cover the paste with a thick band-aid or clean cotton cloth (take a perforated cotton cloth). Apply this paste 3-4 times a day for 1-2 weeks.
