Four Yerning For Ideas For Training And Playing?

By:

Developing a Personal Soccer Training Program

By developing a training program for yourself that allows you to build up skills you are weak on and polish areas where you are proficient, you can become a valuable soccer player. You will need to devise your plan based on how much time you can practice each day or each week. Make your goals high but realistic. Above all else, be consistent about when and how long you practice. Next, think about your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to physical fitness and soccer abilities. Decide which areas you should focus on, whether they be speed, accuracy, agility, or strength. Then proportion your time accordingly. If you need to develop strength, start with a few exercises on speed and accuracy, and then focus your time on strength-building practices. If you need some help devising your plan, check with parents, coaches, or even friends.

Flexibility

Flexibility is important to soccer players; without it, they are at risk for injury. Without flexibility, players are at a high risk for overextending themselves during practice or game time. Daily stretches are important for soccer players, as for any athlete. Coaches need to educate themselves in proper stretching techniques and then pass that information on to their players. Stretching should take the first 15 minutes of practice, and coaches and players should remember to implement some cool-down stretching exercises after the game. Some stretches soccer players need are pretty simple; others are quite complex. When trying a new stretch, players should always know what muscle groups they are supposed to be focusing on. The two keys to being flexible are to stretch thoroughly and stretch frequently.

Agility Training for Soccer

As you practice increasing your agility, there are lots of exercises that will help you on the soccer field. Start with working on moving around obstacles with the ball. You can purchase objects such as cones, coaching sticks, and arches in order to set up obstacle courses for yourself. Use several different patterns when you set up these objects. You are not only trying to get around these objects in a faster time, but also using less space. You can also practice with hurdles; first moving without the soccer ball, then with it. Equally important to handling a ball in your possession is developing the skill to quickly, accurately acquire possession. Both goalies and field members should practice trapping the soccer ball. One great way to improve agility is to work with a reaction ball, which moves unpredictably because of uneven weight distribution. Finally, you can also find ways to practice agility and speed with a netted ball.

Developing Endurance as a Midfielder

Midfielder is, quite frankly, an exhausting position. These players are responsible for assisting the forwards in scoring and also assisting the defenders in defense. Their role is the center of the field. The center of the field is where most of the action takes place in a soccer field. Because of the responsibilities, in terms of area and strategy, of the midfielder, the players in that position will do much more running than anyone else on the field. Having endurance as a runner is perhaps the most important quality a midfielder should possess. Running should be an every day exercise for all players, but especially for the midfielders. Many coaches use the field lines exercise for running: players start at one end of the field and touch the first line before returning to starting position. They then move to the second line on the field and repeat the process until they have covered the whole field. Any running strategy that allows players to measure success or set goals in such increments can help make the practice more motivational.
