Four Tips For Selling A Home As Quickly As Possible In Any Market

I haven't always known how to sell my home. Nope, there was a time when I had to learn everything the hard way, or so it seems. That's how most real estate investors learn things on their own, despite the fact that lots of people out there are eager to give advice. Maybe I'm one of those people now!

So, if you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed and wondering if you can do it, just remember a few hints I keep in mind about how to sell my home. They are not your typical list of obvious tips you see all over the web. These are my own concoction of ideas that work for me. Ready? Here goes:

Pull up into your driveway, get out of your car and look at the outside of your home and your yard as though you are seeing it for the first time. Nobody will know what you're doing, and although it may sound silly, you really have to see your home as others see your home in order to sell it. Nex, open the door and walk inside with the same, fresh, new mindset. See the inside of your home as though it is the first time, too. Walk into every room, one after the other, and take some mental notes. In fact, take some real notes on a pad of paper if you are serious about this exercise.

After touring the whole place, take a seat at the kitchen table with a notebook and a pen. OK, you can use your computer or your tablet if you prefer, but now is the time to start writing. Write down what you saw when you toured your own home. Don't skip over anything, just make a list of points if necessary, this is not a term paper you're writing. But the really important thing is to capture your enthusiasm for various features you noticed and to start an action list of items that may need your attention to improve the appearance of your home.

Now use this writing, the bullet points or the paragraphs, whatever you have, and write a couple different classified ads to post online with photos. This is the number one item on my action list. Posting classified ads online will be your most important marketing activity of all when trying to sell a home. If you're wondering how to sell a home, now you know. Write classified ads after touring your home as though you had never seen it before. Post those ads on craigslist and other sites where buyers are shopping for their new homes, and then get ready for some emails and phone calls.
