Four Must See National Parks

By:

National parks have been a part of United States tradition since the initial national park, Yellowstone, was founded in 1872. While visitors may not have been heading to the park in those days, Yellowstone National Park and a lot of others have achieved amazing reputation as vacation areas in the past years. Camping, hiking, biking and boating are all popular activities for nature lovers and city inhabitants. Our national parks are the perfect places to bask in all your outdoor passions. Of the thousands of national parks in the United States, here are four that everyone should visit in their lifetime:

1. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina/Tennessee- This eye-catching park is the location of over 800 miles of hiking trails. Variety is just something that makes this park worth visiting. In the park boundaries you can stop by fir tree forests and collapsing forests; in one day you can visit national heritage sites and start off counting the diverse kinds of salamanders living in the park. The best time to stop by the park is most likely between late Spring all the way through the fall. In Spring the flowers start blossoming, in Summer the air is warm and fragrant with the smell of ripe flowers, and in the Fall the trees are on fire with a blaze of orange, red, and yellow leaves. So almost anytime is a fantastic time to take a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

2. Olympic National Park, Washington- This national park is among natures most wonderful masterpieces. The park is a spectacular mix of high snow topped mountains, low flower filled meadows, wave beaten seashores and filled abundant forests. Occupied by one of the only undisturbed rain forests in North America, the Olympic National Park is the most suitable area to go to for nonstop discovery and adventure. With wonderful cliff side hikes and beautiful walks through mature temperate rain forests, you can discover a lot of breathtaking sites. Whilst much of the park is open annually, the finest time to go and avoid the rain is during mid to late summer.

3. Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah- This park is purely a beautiful alter from the tree filled forests and parks that most individuals are use to. While random pine trees mark the landscape, the real beauty of the park is in the rock formations. While Bryce Canyon is not truly a canyon (it wasnt eroded by water), its depths are still worthy of exploring and the dirt paths are simple to follow. Taking a hike through and around the canyon is like visiting a different planet. Bryce Canyon National Park is in a desert atmosphere so the middle of summer is not the best time to see if you want to avert the heat. Early to mid Spring and Fall are fantastic times for a trip and may even allow you to see some snow in the park.

4. Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio- This huge forested park is a good plan for city inhabitants to escape the noise and traffic of the city. The thick forest paths and the winding Cuyahoga river give you the best place for family recreation. For Tolkien lovers a visit to the Brandywine will be exciting, wonderful and unforgettable. With 125 miles of trials, Cuyahoga is the greatest area to go for a hiking or biking trip. If time is limited, tourists can take pleasure in a tour of the park on the local scenic train. The park is open all year in most areas, so your choice of visit will really depend upon what sort of weather you prefer; each season offers various attractions.
