As you play, make sure everyone is learning what to do and focus less on winning than having a good time. One of the biggest misconceptions about paintball, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons why people do not get into the game, is the fear of welts and bruises that paintballs can incur. Realistically, it is a game of shooting at each other, and it definitely is possible to get an occasional bruise. Most bruises that are caused by paintballs are from shots taken from a close distance. Most paintball shots taken over long-distance or in a paintball game hardly cause any pain or bruises. Also, if you are wearing appropriate protective gear, paintball shots should have little effect on you other than to splatter you with paint. So if you have put off playing paintball because of the fear of pain, simply dress well for the occasion and go out and enjoy yourself.

Optimal Paintball Weather

The best times of the year to enjoy the sport of paintball are in the spring and fall. You will not really have to worry about overheating or dehydration in these months. Since protective gear is an important aspect to the game, the summer months are sometimes too hot for paintball. Summer play still works well in the evenings and early mornings, but perfect weather for paintball is in the spring and fall. You do not have to limit yourself to playing paintball only a few months each year as long as you are smart about it. You probably need to decide for yourself when the best time and seasons is for your paintball experience based on your climate. Having the right kind of equipment, clothing, location, and supplies will make a big difference with how much fun you and your fellow players will have.
