Four Elements To Build Your Client Attraction Foundation

To attract ideal clients consistently you need to have in place what I call a strong personal and professional foundation, which will act as a solid anchor for all your business activities. Much like a garden your business requires regular attention in order to flourish, which means working on both the visible elements (the actions you take) and the invisible (your mindset).


As you successfully align the inner aspects of your self (your beliefs, thoughts, feelings) with the outer aspects (your marketing, interactions and service delivery) that's when you will start to see a major shift in your business success.


Here are four key areas to develop your client attraction foundation.....


Address your entrepreneurial fear factor. Whether you are in start-up or are running a more mature business the fear factor will show up! The trick is to recognise and work through it otherwise you will end up stuck. Ask yourself if you are running beliefs such as 'I am not good enough', 'others know more so who will hire me?', 'I can't make money doing this'... If you are (and most of us have a set of beliefs that run our lives) this will show up in all your interactions with others - from not following up with potential leads, putting off making that important phone call or making excuses about not taking action.


As a business owner you need to have absolute belief in who you are and what you do. Confidence in yourself and your services is far more attractive to others than nervousness, worry and anxiety.


Develop a compelling marketing message. Consistent and regular marketing is key to keeping your business alive and well. However, marketing activities in themselves are no longer sufficient. You also need to develop a compelling and bold message about what you do. There are hundreds of coaches, consultants and business professionals to choose from. Many offer very similar products and services. How can you stand out from the crowd and grab the attention of your ideal clients? Why would they want to work with you? What is that special something only you can offer?


Know your money story. We all have our own stories about money and our ability to earn based on our beliefs and experiences. This is true whether you are a business owner or an employee. Some of these beliefs are positive and others can cut us off at the knees. If you have any negative beliefs about your self worth or your ability to manage your finances, this will often show up as undercharging for services, attracting clients who can't pay and a constant struggle to manage your money. With a willingness to address your issues around money you will start to see a noticeable shift in your financial affairs and the clients who want to work with you.


Manage your time. Are you busy or productive? When you become 'time conscious' you will naturally turn your attention to activities which will attract and retain clients and generate revenue. You will also prioritise having in place all the systems and resources needed, so that you can respond quickly and easily to client opportunities in a smooth and professional manner.


Make it your priority to handle the law of distraction - ourselves, others and technology. And learn to say no! You can do this when you don't respond to other's whims or do what others want when they want it done.


You also don't want to outwork everyone else! Being tired and overwhelmed is not client attractive. Don't feel guilty about taking time out. By renewing and refreshing yourself and your approach on a regular basis you will become much more productive.


Developing your client attraction foundation may take energy and determination but, like building a house on solid rock, it will help you feel confident and secure about the future.
