Lab Rat

This is one unusual job option that should be entered with caution. The job of a laboratory rat involves subjecting yourself to various medical and experimental tests in order to determine the efficacy of newly discovered drugs. The prime qualification is a healthy body and a stable mind. This is a good job option for people who are unable to find a new job after being laid off, or those who cannot afford to stay in low-paying jobs anymore. The basic pay for a lab rat is about 30,000 pounds, but it still varies based on the company, type of procedure, length of time for testing, industry and experience.

Greeter at a Store

If you cannot endure standing for a long time, this job is not for you. The job of a store greeter requires a natural smile and a pleasing personality, plus the ability to stand for several hours. The job is basically easy for you just have to greet every person entering a store, restaurant or hotel. Some employers might require you to hand out some leaflets or freebies. However, there is no intellectual aspect of the job, which can be an issue for some who like using their mind at work. The average salary of a store greeter is 14,000 pounds, but it varies depending on the type of establishment, location and experience.

Stand-in Bridesmaid

This is an interesting job that has been around for quite some time. Couples hire stand-in bridesmaid when the bride does not have enough number of girlfriends to participate in the wedding. The qualifications depend on the requirements of the couple, but basically the stand-in bridesmaid must be the age of the bride, pretty, and decent-looking. For an easy job like this, the average salary is 10,000 pounds, but this still varies depending on some factors.

Christmas Tree Decorator

This is not for you if you are looking for an on-going and not an occasional job. As the name implies, a Christmas tree decorator is in demand during the yuletide season. The job involves adorning Christmas trees in houses or shops. This can be an on-the-side gig for designers or home decorators, since these jobs are basically the same and the quality of output is judged based on aesthetics. The average salary of a Christmas tree decorator is between 14,000 and 20,000 pounds.
