Forget The Weight Loss Failures And Achieve Dieting Success

By: John Philips..

Far too often many people approach dieting knowing, subconsciously, that they are going to fail. They have tried so many diets in the past and failed that they know, with absolute knowledge, that failure in this attempt will also be the inevitable outcome.

Knowing you are doomed to failure before you even began means you are just waiting to prove yourself right. Instead of continuing with this vicious cycle it would be more beneficial to stop and wonder why none of the other diets have worked for you when you know others have found success.

By not examining the causes for your failures you are sure to repeat them and without learning from your mistakes and moving forward with a positive attitude you are already planning to fail. Use every failure as a stepping stone to success and eventually progress will follow and you'll wonder why you ever failed.

There is nobody else who can take control of your eating requirements, ultimate goals and reasons for embarking on a diet. Only you can motivate yourself to do the things necessary to be successful and only you know whether you are eating out of necessity or to fulfil an emotional need.

You are the only one that can take the responsibility for the condition in which you find yourself. There are medical exceptions but even in these situations if you are trying diet after diet and failing over and over again then you must at some point in time realize that it is quite likely not the diets that aren't working.

We are all responsible for our successes and failures in life. There are few better feelings in the world than for someone to notice and compliment your efforts and it is no different when it comes to dieting. There is only one person able to achieve those successes and ultimately there is only one person responsible for the failures.

Simply giving up because no one noticed and not allowing your dieting practices an opportunity to work before you decide they are a failure is all too common a failing. Persist and you just might surprise yourself with a roaring success.

Perhaps you have problems motivating yourself when your on your own and a solution to this could be finding a partner to diet with. Both you and your partner would then be challenged and feel the need to perform better than if either of you were dieting alone. This also helps to set realistic weight loss targets and could well encourage you to even exceed your goals. Both of you would then take on the responsibility of motivating the other and help each other through the difficult periods.

You must hold yourself accountable to your stated dieting and weight loss goals in order to achieve any lasting results. If you have not had dieting success in the past, then perhaps it is time to bring some degree of accountability into the picture and make it happen.
