Ford Used Cars- The Focus

Ford Used Cars- The Focus

By:

Ford used cars like the Focus was brought into production in 2000 and was sold both here in North America and in Europe as well. Fords first venture in the small car market place was there Mystique and Contour models, these models stopped production in 1999. When Ford decided to end those models, it wanted to replace them with another small compact vehicle that was practical, but fun to drive. The Ford Focus is popular both in North America and in Europe, so I wanted to do some research and see what this vehicle would be like to own used.

Ford Focus used cars:

The Focus in many ways was better design than Fords previous Contour and Mystique models. The exterior design of the vehicle has a European look to it and there are several different body styles to choose from including a station wagon model. For a small car the interior is fairly spacious, but like I mentioned before, this car is all about practicality so the interior design is very basic. The speedometer and engine gauges are easy to read and the center console is easy to use. It comes standard with your basic options like power steering, heat, am/fm radio and a CD player.

I found several fuel statistics for the different engine sizes that the Focus has to offer. The Zetec, 2.0-litre, four cylinder engine had a fuel rating of 9.3-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 6.5-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The 2.0-litre, single cam engine, had a fuel rating of 9-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 6.5-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The 2.3-litre engine, had a fuel rating of 10.6-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 7-litre, per 100km, for highway driving.

From the years 2000 to 2004, Ford used cars like the Focus came standard with the 2.0-litre engine and this produced 110 horsepower. The Focus hatchback model did offer a twin cam, 130 horsepower engine as well. In 2005 the Focus then offered a sedan trim to the line up and this had a 2.3-litre, 153 horsepower engine.

Lets look at the pros and cons of the Ford Focus as a used vehicle to own:

1-Its very good at the gas pump.
2-It earned a five star rating from the National Highway Traffic Administration for front seat passenger protection, in a frontal crash test done to it.

I hope this helps if youre thinking of buying a Ford Focus as a used vehicle.
