Losing your love handles, especially for women is a very hard thing to do. It is usually the last thing to go too when someone is trying to lose weight to get that beautiful flat tummy that we all desire. Its okay though because all is not lost. Its not the hardest thing in the world, but definitely not the easiest, especially if you dont know what your doing. Luckily for me, I do know what I am doing as I have my degree in Exercise Science. So what I am going to do is give you some of my top tips for women to finally lose those pesky love handles forever.

First, stop jogging on the treadmill or coasting on the elliptical. This in the long run is doing you no good. As time goes and you keep doing the same thing cardio wise, your body becomes more and more efficient at performing the movements. It is burning less and less calories because it has essentially adapted. Now the only way to make it work harder Is to go for longer periods of time or jack up the intensity.

Since most of us are busy, I advise my clients to jack up the intensity so they dont have to run as long. This is going to do 2 things. First, its going to cut down on your workout duration and also it is going to force your body to burn more calories for a longer period of time, even after your stopped exercising. So stop jogging and start performing some type of interval work such as sprints.

Also, you need to cut out the carbohydrates. Excess carbs is what aids in the fattening process lol. If you ingest more carbs than your body needs at that time, most likely they will be stored in your love handles. Its plain and simple. By cutting out the carbs you are forcing your body to start feeding on those excess fat stores to supply the energy needed for homeostasis (to survive).

Another thing you must do is to perform weight bearing activities. In order to have those long slender, toned muscles showing, you need to develop them. Shoot for 10-15 repetitions for 3 sets a piece working your entire body each time. This will also burn a lot of calories in the process. Remember, the more muscle you have developed on your body, the more calories your body will burn at rest. It is a win win situation.

All in all, if you just follow these 3 simple steps, I guarantee you will lose those love handles once and for all. This is the same stuff I tell my clients and they all have great results. So will you.
