For Quality Of Life, It's Important To Consider A Bathroom Refurbishment

By:

When you just can't wait to get in and out of the bathroom in the morning, or don't really feel any sense of rejuvenation when you've been spending your time in there, then it's likely time for a bathroom refurbishment. We shouldn't underestimate how important it is to escape for a little bit of solace now and again, to clear away all the stresses and strains of the day, yet in truth a lot of the bathrooms in older homes these days were designed to be purely functional and not necessarily areas that we could "escape."

There's no reason why you have to accept things the way that they are however and every reason why a bathroom refurbishment could be just the thing you're looking for in your hectic life, especially in today's world.

What can you do to make a difference here, though? First of all, if the room truly is on the smaller side, consider extending it. This may require you to be a little creative, as you may have to reconfigure the shape and size of an adjoining room, or maybe even co-opt a smaller and probably unused "spare" bedroom. When was the last time that anybody used that bedroom anyway? Wouldn't it be better to make better use of the resources that you have, expanding and creating a new bathroom experience that you will be able to savour on each and every day?

With enough space available to you, you can now configure the bathroom as you want it and according to the needs and requirements of you and your family. Do you really use and therefore need a bathtub? If you're planning on a really functional, spectacular and comprehensive approach to refurbishment you may well want to put the tub in anyway, but on the other hand by not including one you may have a great deal more space to make the shower a lot larger. Why not have a vanity area and counter-top space that allows you to spread everything out when you're working on your personal care?

It may be possible for you to consider making this entire area a wet room. If you've never heard of this, it's essentially a trend that originated in Scandinavia, where the whole room is effectively a giant shower area. This requires a lot of care and attention to make sure that the entire room is waterproofed, however it's amazing how much additional freedom this can give you without that sense of claustrophobic confinement inside a typical shower cubicle.

Have a look online for some ideas and inspiration and get in touch with experts who are proficient in this area. When it comes to bathroom design there are many such experts at your disposal, who will be more than willing to help advise you once you show them the space that you have available. With a little ingenuity and bringing previous experience and knowledge to bear, collectively you could create something that truly helps make a difference to your daily quality-of-life.
