Flying Is Tough Work

By:

On October 15, 2009, Brent Redpath wrote a very happy and optimistic blog. He finally passed the private pilot check ride. On July of the same year, he was busy training for his last, but most crucial, examination. His training included a simulated instrument training. He was also busy completing his cross country flight requirements.

His Certified Pilot Instructor, or CFI, performed the Practical Test Standard, or PTS, for three hours.

The date of his check ride was July 29, 2009. Brent was more than ready when it came to the practical part. However, he was not so sure about the oral examination. Consequently, he was worked up when that part came. But, he was able to prove and show his broad knowledge about the rules in flying. When it came to the flight proper, he was confident because he knew that his performance was way more advanced that a normal student's.

He was given the Private Pilot Certificate. It was enough proof that Brent mastered his craft well. It was certainly a fact that Brent poured in a lot of efforts because, otherwise, he would not have passed and gotten the certificate. Thus, his agony was all gone. His dream, meanwhile, came to life. He finally breathed life into something he just though of when he was young.

To celebrate properly, Brent flew over the Chehalem Airpark with his girlfriend. It became one of their dates. He also gave his family and friends a chance to experience life on the clouds. It was a good experience for both parties, especially for Brent. Despite his deafness, he was able to be in control and command of everything while being the pilot. His family and friends did not contest to anything that Brent did. They just let him take over, and that made Brent's heart swell.

Brent decided to move on to grater heights, and pursue the IFR, Instruments Flight Rules, training and the tail wheel training. He found the most suitable instructor for the latter training, as that person knows how to do the sign language. Brent is very much looking forward to his blossoming career as a pilot.
