Florida is the American state with the longest coastline. Its main industries include agriculture, equipment and electronics manufacturing, printing and publishing, transportation equipment, food processing, and machinery. Florida also has the distinction of being known as Americas sunshine state and being an important gateway for international trade with 40% of all American exports to South America passing through Florida. Tourism also has one of the biggest markets in Florida in pumping in some $57 billion to their economy.

Because of the recent amendment of the National Labor Relations Board last August, private business owners are now starting to display State and Federal labor law posters in their offices. These posters were made to be set up in places where workers and employees usually commune. The NLRB recently stated the extension of business compliance, running up to January 2012, with the Labor Poster Law being made official in November.

The Florida labor law poster includes Job safety and health protection labor law poster, Equal employment opportunity labor law poster, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) labor law poster, Employee Right for Workers with Disabilities/Special Minimum Wage Labor Law Poster and more. These sets of Labor Law posters contain everything an employee needs to know about their basic rights as wage earners.

The basic information included in the posters includes wage and hour regulations, child labor, medical leaves, job safety and health in the workplace, and employee discrimination. The Labor Law and Job safety posters can be bilingual, and whether to display the posters in both English and Spanish can be at the employer/managers discretion.

The most important thing is to place these posters up in areas where workers usually gather. This can be the cafeteria, the employee locker room, the communal lavatory or the work areas. It is also mandated to post them on off-site areas and plants so each employee, from the top-ranking managers to the minimum wage earners can read them and be aware.

Another vital part of the Labor Law Poster is the Occupational Safety and Health Administrations Job Safety and Health Protection Poster. These safety posters ensure the security of every employee from being badly injured at work. The OSH Act of 1970 reiterated this by requiring business owners to provide a safe work place that has zero hazards. Employees are directed to contact OSHA if they suspect irresponsibility on their employers part.

With the Florida Labor Law Posters up, the Department of Labor hopes to decrease incidences of employee discrimination and harassment. It can be a great help to eradicate unfair work practices.
