Florence city breaks promise a breathtaking holiday. Florence is the capital of the Tuscany region in Italy. Summer months are hot and humid with temperatures in the upper 80s and very little rainfall. Winters are cool and damp with temperatures averaging in the 30s and more rain than snow. Tourism peaks from April to October with visitors staying in many of the hotels, campsites, guesthouses, and even farmhouses in the area.

The Tuscany region is one of the greatest wine producing districts in the world along with the Chianti region. The cuisine is not fancy; most dishes are basic and consist of meat, bread, and soups.

Florence has a multitude of museums and art galleries. The Uffizi Gallery Art Museum is the most famous in the world. The Bargello Museum displays works of sculpture. Palazzo Pitti contains part of the private collection of the Medici family, one of the most powerful families in Florence in the 15th to 18th centuries, as well as costumes, ceremonial carriages, and modern art from the 18th century.

The Pitti Palace contains numerous art galleries. The Palatine Gallery features over 500 Renaissance paintings. The Royal Apartments were used by the Medici Family. The Modern Art Gallery showcases modern art. The Silver Museum, or Medici Treasury, is a collection of priceless silver, cameos, semi-precious gemstones, ancient vases, and German artifacts. The Costume Gallery is a collection of theatre costumes as far back as the 16th century and displays Italian fashions over the years. The Carriages Museum includes carriages and other modes of transportation from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Every building in Florence is a work of architectural art. Some religious landmarks include the Santa Maria el Fiore Cathedral, San Giovanni Baptistry, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, Basilica of Santa Croce, and the San Marco church and convent which is now a museum.

The many theatres include the opera houses Teatro della Pergola and the Teatro Comunale di Firenze.

The Teatro Verdi shows comedy plays. The Teatro Goldoni is mostly for dance. The Parco della Musica e della cultura is being built for future ballets, concerts, operas, and music festivals.

There are two airports in the Tuscany region, Florence's Peretola Airport and the Galileo International Airport near Pisa. Upon arriving in either airport, the buses, taxis, or trains will take tourists wherever they desire. Magnificent architectural landmarks and works of art can be gazed upon in every direction in Florence city breaks.
