Fleece Blanket - Stay Comfortable During The Cold Months

By:

A fleece blanket is a great option for keeping warm in the winter.

This kind of blanket would have traditionally been made from the coat of a sheep or a goat that was long haired. Today the term is used to describe any soft blanket whether it is made from the coat of a sheep or synthetically constructed. Fleece is a soft material often with deep pile. The original term refers to the coat of a sheep. The material was initially made from the coat of the sheep.

A natural one that is made from sheep hair is very expensive but very luxurious and warm, the sheep are sheared when their coats reach a certain point and the coat of the sheep is used to loom material.

A natural one usually has some type of backing on it, to help it hold its shape. It is much more difficult to care for than the synthetic type in most cases it has to be professionally cleaned, which can be expensive over time. The sheep are not harmed by the process. Once the sheep's coat has been loomed into material it is used to make many products including apparel and blankets.

Finding a natural will also take a little more work than finding a synthetic to purchase. A natural kind will be much more expensive than a synthetic one. A small synthetic one can cost as little as ten dollars, while even a small natural will cost well over thirty dollars. A synthetic blanket to fit a King/Queen bed will run around sixty dollars and up. A natural fleece to fit a King/Queen bed will run around one hundred and fifty dollars and up.

A fleece blanket is a warm and cuddly way to stay warm during the coldest winter nights. A synthetic one can be purchased for a reasonable price, and the money spent to buy a natural kind will be rewarded with years of warmth.
