First of all, how long it takes to burn belly fat depends greatly on how much fat you have to burn. Someone how has to lose 5 pounds of fat is likely to do so a lot faster than someone who has to lose 25 pounds of fat.

That's also partly because having more fat on your body often slows down your metabolism, making it more difficult to lose the weight.

Another important factor is the program that you are using to lose weight. Granted, most proven programs take much more than two weeks to be effective, but they're still faster than doing it alone.

Lifestyle Choices:

Lifestyle choices also play a huge role in the losing or gaining of belly fat. For example, drinking a lot of beer is known to increase your belly fat by a huge amount. So, if you're serious about reducing that belly fat, you can't drink, at least not excessively.

Smoking is another weight loss no-no. You might think that smokers are generally skinny, but there are plenty of heavy people out there who are also heavy smokers. It's not good for your weight loss goals or for your general health.

A third lifestyle choice that you need to make is to eat health. Replace sugary and salty snacks with healthy ones. For example, try eating a bowl of fruit, rather than a chocolate bar, since fruit is much better for you.

Finally, there's the ultimate lifestyle change for healthy living, which is exercise. You don't need to go to the gym, although it might help.

You do need to get in some sort of exercise each day, though, whether it be jogging or just taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
