Five Tips For Finding Affordable Life Insurance

By:

Is there such a thing as affordable life insurance or does all life insurance cost "an arm and a leg?" Maybe, but that depends on a few things. Let me ask you this, "are you single or married?" Do you have children and if so, are they grown, infant or school aged? What is your current age? What type of work do you do for a living? Do you engage in dangerous activities? Would these activities be things considered "out of the ordinary" by most people. Example, not everyone sky dives.

These five tips could help you find affordable life insurance.

#1. Stay away from risky hobbies. Think about this for a moment. Would you sell yourself a life insurance policy? Life insurance companies use average statistics to determine your insurability This is determined by the average annual deaths in your age bracket.

Most people do NOT engage in high risk behaviors. This means that you can either expect to be rejected for life insurance coverage, have your high risk behavior excluded from your policy or pay a much higher than normal premium. Exclusions could be placed on your policy, which means that you would not be covered if your death was caused by an "excluded" activity.

#2. Take good care of your body. This means to shape up, sleep regularly and eatsmart. Leading a balanced life will lower your stress levels. You can't hide your bad habits for long. This includes practicing safe sex habits, maintaining your ideal body weight, eating healthy and not smoking or quitting smoking. Quitting smoking will save you a ton of money over time.

#3. Think about buying Term Life instead. Term Life costs a lot less than other types of life insurance. Term Life is "pure" insurance only so you're not putting money in a savings account. Guaranteed Renewable Term is an option for you too, if your health is good. This means that as long as you abide by the rules of the policy, and maintain the premium payments, then you can continue to renew it regardless of the condition of your health.

#4. Don't take the first thing that you find. Speak to several companies before making a decision. Sit down after speaking to three or four companies and determine which policy is right for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. Also, you should have a thirty day "free look" at your policy after you receive it. Go through it with a fine tooth and comb and make
certain that everything that you discussed with the agent is included in the policy.|Check it out thoroughly.|Read your policy carefully and make certain that you understand it.} Also make certain that there are not any unexpected "Exclusions", "Waiting Periods" or "Modifications" within the policy that you don't understand.

Keep in mind that it's too late to change anything once you're gone and your beneficiary has to live on what that policy provides. Don't wait to get your questions answered, call right away.

#5. Make a list of all your financial needs for now and the future years. By doing this you can come up with a good "ballpark" figure of approximately how much life insurance you'll actually need to purchase. Make certain to include everything down to food, utilities, clothing, other insurance, pet care, hair cuts and anything else that you can think of.

I hope that these tips have given you some ideas that will get you on the right path to finding affordable life insurance. Good luck!
