Five Important Summer Barbecue Items

By:

Number 1) Your Barbecue Equipment

First and foremost, ready your equipment and all of the items that you will use to barbecue your marinated meat for today. Also, if people will be there to watch you do the heavenly job, then prepare beer and soda koozies along with the ice-cold beverages (or even hot ones, if it's a cold day) to keep the temperature of the drinks as well as the spectators since the grill can get really hot. Make sure you don't take numerous trips inside, like mentioned beforehand, and ready your grill by having extra gas or coal and a poking stick just in case. Of course, a grill that's in top condition must be ready especially if it's a brick one; make sure it is clean. You can choose to use any of these kinds of grills. You also need fuel depending on your grill heat source. Fire up your grill until you reach the desired temperature that will perfectly cook your barbecue.

Number 2) Barbecue Meats

Great meats for barbecuing are key to your success, no matter what kind of grill you have. Make sure you bought only some of the freshest. If you plan to let the barbecue heat up for a while keep any meat cool so it doesn't spoil while awaiting its fate. The possibilities for the main ingredients are endless; you can cook pork, beef patties, chicken steaks, hot dogs and even seafood. Sausages are also perfect barbecue alternatives.

Number 3) Sauces and Seasonings

Don't expect a great meat to taste excellently if you are just going to put it on the grill and wait for it to cook. You can even rub some of the sauce to add color and flavor. Also, you can use wood chips so your barbecue will have a smoky aroma. Dried hardwoods are the greatest since they won't sap anymore and bring out that strange taste to your meat. These can be soaked or not and there are opinions that go both directions. Then there are rubs and even sprinkling dried herbs directly onto the heat source.

Number 4) Accessories

This includes forks, potholders or grill gloves, a spray bottle to keep down the heat flares, an easy read thermometer, and tongs to name a few. Have them within reach so you can easily get to them when you need them.

Number 5) Cold Beverage

When you're barbecuing it usually is a warm day or evening so needless to say you will need a little something for cooling the throat while you grill. That heat can definitely get hot once you stand in close proximity. In addition, have the can wrapped in a koozie to help keep the can from dripping on your coals.
