Five Favourite High Street Retailers

By:

As a fashion directory we discover new high street retailers who sell online everyday. Here are five of our current favourites:

LK Bennett
Linda Bennett, owner and founder of LK Bennett, opened her first store in Wimbledon London in 1990 selling women's shoes and accessories. Linda had trained in footwear design at Cordwainers College in Hackney and then went on to gain experience in the design studio of Robert Clergerie in France.

The experience and expertise behind the brand has propelled LK Bennett a long way since its first store and the range has expanded rapidly. This now includes a fine selection of women's clothing as well as fashion forward footwear and must-have accessories.

LK Bennett maintains its status as a luxury brand bridging the gap between designer and high street and is also known to attract a celebrity clientele.

Burton
The history behind Burton's menswear store is rich and deep seeded in the UK's very own history and tells the tale of one mans belief that "Good clothes develop a man's self-respect." That's what Montague Burton believed when he set up this retailer in 1903.

Burton's began by specializing in high quality; made-to-measure suits then went on to clothe nearly a quarter of the armed forces during the First World War. The fascinating story of an 18 year old tailor turned Justice of the Peace lives on today throughout the large number of high street stores that Burton Menswear now holds.

Burton's now offers men a range of both formal and informal clothing, footwear and accessories as well as nationwide formal hire for weddings and special occasions.

Only
The Only slogan is 'Only Limitless Denim' and that pretty much says it all as far as this trend driven, urban styled denim retailer goes. The Only brand was introduced in Denmark in 1995 and now has stores across Europe, China and the Middle East. This women's wear high street retailer is striving to be one of the most significant female jeans brands on the market and competes with other high-end high street shops in style, quality and value for money.

Only mixes raw edge fabrics with structured feminine shapes and designs for an elegant yet stylish look that has been specifically crafted for the female silhouette.

French Connection
The fashion forward can not resist the French Connection. Proving that they are serious about the business of fashion, French Connection has expanded its core clothing range for men and women and developed a vast and varied portfolio including his and hers toiletries, accessories, footwear, sunglasses and opticals as well as a new kidswear range.

Offering both casual and formal/party wear French Connection is constantly changing and innovating in order to stay one step ahead of the high street and keep up with new design led trends.

French Connection is infamous for its witty promotional activity surrounding the FCUK brand identity but constantly evolves to remain a fresh and distinct high street retailer.

Wallis
Wallis is a high street women's wear specialist with stores throughout the UK, Eire and Europe as well as a growing online presence. Established in the 1920's, Wallis is now owned by Sir Philip Green and is part of the well respected Arcadia group.

Wallis offers a range of smart and classic clothing for sizes 8-20 as well as an extensive accessory and jewellery department and a great line of petite clothing.

The Wallis lady is independent and style conscious and very aware of what suits her body shape. The timeless collection available at Wallis focuses on cut, shape and design as well as modern trends in order to create a timeless and inspirational identity.
