More often than not, women start to feel that they may be pregnant after experiencing a few early pregnancy symptoms. As early as the second week of conception, you can confirm whether you are pregnant or not. But which signs should you watch out for? A missed menstrual period Missing a cycle can be a sign that you are pregnant. A missed cycle is considered as one of the first indicators that conception may have occurred. If you are past your expected date and your period has not yet arrived, you may want to consider taking a pregnancy test. Note that among the first few weeks of contraception, implantation bleeding may occur. Some women oftentimes, take this bleeding as menstruation. Unlike your normal cycle, implantation bleeding is lighter and is not continuous.
Fatigue Most pregnant women experience fatigue on their early stage. Some women find it hard to get up from bed in the morning and just want to sleep the whole day. Taking a nap for at least 30 minutes will help women regain the energy that they need.
Tender breasts The body prepares the breasts for childbirth and breast feeding. Because of these, some women experience tender breasts and sore nipples. When your breasts swell, expect a tingling sensation. For some women, this is only an early pregnancy symptom. However, for a few, this lasts throughout the entire pregnancy.
Nausea It is very common among women to experience nausea and morning sickness. Some even feel nauseous two weeks before their period is expected. Morning sickness is most likely to attack in the morning when you eat something with an empty stomach. To help get rid of the nauseous feeling, eat crackers from time to time.
Frequent urination This is one of the early pregnancy symptoms which women begin to experience by the time that their period is expected.
Headaches Headaches may be experienced by the sixth week. To combat headaches, take a quick nap from time to time. Note that toxemia or pre eclampsia may begin with a simple headache. If you feel this symptom, call your doctor right away.
Spotting or bleeding Spotting is very common among pregnant women. Some women also experience an implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding occurs right before your period is expected or by the time your period is expected. If you experience frequent spotting, check with your doctor as this can also be an indication of miscarriage.
Constipation Constipation is experienced because hormonal changes can affect one's digestive system. Be sure to exercise regularly and drink plenty of water if you can.
Heatburn For some women, heatburn may be experienced for the entire pregnancy. For the first four months, it is caused by hormonal changes. For the last five months, it may be caused by the pressure that the baby causes on the woman's organs. It will help relieve heatburn if you remain in an upright position at least for 30 minutes or an hour after every meal.
