First Impressions Last, Clean Impressions Last Longer

Tired of living in a jungle? How about living with brute animals? Don’t know what I’m talking about? I hold my mom responsible for that. Growing up, she would always associate our house to a jungle---and according to her that is still an understatement. Because of sheer idleness, I suggested that we try one of those home cleaning services. With a blank face, she responded that said service is only for the L&L (lazy and luxurious) and that I only possess the first L. (Ouch!) Though I’m guilty as charged! But that was before. With age creeping up on us, each second is precious. And with residential cleaning services readily available, we are given more time to ourselves, with our families and with our friends.

With that said, let me start my raves (and little) rants on professional cleaning services. First stop, commercial cleaning services. A spotless workplace impresses clients---both potential and existing, right? Try sweeping and waxing all 12 floors of the building? Or disinfecting restrooms and disposing trash? Hard work impressing someone, isn’t it? But these things must be done and this is where office cleaners come to sight.

When you decide to get a cleaning service, you will have huge companies and fairly small establishments contending for your business. Essentially, the difference rests on these two: equipment and cost. On one hand, you have large companies with up-to-date equipment that would likely create a much cleaner environment in a short period of time. On the other, small establishments, though able to produce the same output, would take a considerable amount of time due to their basic implements. With regard the rate, of course, the former is much more expensive. Remember, an entire top to bottom will cost a premium. Whichever you choose make certain that they are well-trained, professional cleaners and they represent a fully licensed, bonded and insured organization. You don’t want any incident of theft or damage happening in your work place.

Now, let us wander in a place close to our hearts---our house. Tired of coming home to clean rather than to unwind? How about weekends? Who looks forward to cleaning house on the weekends after working hard all week? Keeping pace with even routine household chores can seem overwhelming at times. That's why maid cleaning services are gifts from the spick and span gods themselves. Almost every player in this particular industry offer the typical back to front, top to bottom cleaning which includes dusting, washing, vacuuming and sanitizing. But I’ve encountered those that do not clean anything that requires their staff to use ladders (what happened to the top to bottom part?) And with the price they quoted, that’s daylight robbery.

So before calling cleaning crews to your work place or safe place, remember to consider the following as suggested by the National Association of Professional Cleaners: How often do you need your business or house cleaned: daily, weekly, or monthly? What time of day do you need to have your property cleaned? Who will supply the cleaning equipment? What details are most important to you? Do you require special services? Window washing, anyone? Are you concerned about chemicals the cleaning service will be using? Do you hate that industrial smell emitted by cleansing products? How much is your budget for cleaning? One ought to discuss payment for cleaning services ahead of time. Would you be obliged to pay after each visit or on a weekly or monthly basis?

Proper communication must be done between the client and the service provider. Commercial cleaning services usually do ocular visits prior to the appointed day to assess the site, know what equipment to bring, estimate the number of staff and time needed to finish the task. In a home setting, if you’re going to leave the house, do it after the cleaning crew arrives. Don’t just leave your key under the mat or behind the light fixtures. We don’t like inviting burglars in our house.

Also, beware of false advertising. Some claim that if the place is not cleaned properly, they will fix everything that needs attention---immediately. But there are sly ones that blame the client for not giving specific/detailed instructions. Background checks and reference requests are present to measure the reputation of a company or establishment. With these items determined, I’m almost certain that you’ll be getting your money’s worth.

Be it commercial or residential cleaning, for profit or time, remember first impressions last, clean impressions last longer.
