The building where we live or work should be protected from natural disaster and should be strong enough to handle any fire disasters. Fire Resistant materials used in buildings should be able to resist fire during any fire event. It should not expand due to heat from fire. After the material is heated at high temperature, it should have minimum contraction due to sudden cooling with the water.The nature of the material used of buildings should not catch fire.Fire resistant building materials include roofing materials, exterior surfaces, and interior materials. Sometimes man made materials and natural materials used in buildings are fire resistant, whereas chemicals with additional coatings are needed for others to make it fire resistant.

Normal fibers like wool, cotton when properly manufactured can also be treated with fire inhibitors or fire resistant chemicals to provide fire resistance. Fibreglasses are used to make fire blankets and are used in kitchen fires or fire that starts on clothing. Nylon is also used in many types of fire resistant cloths. Mineral fiber, Asbestos is a very effective fire resistant to protect from heat and fire. Asbestos are no longer used, as its very harmful. Anything made from asbestos should be disposed immediately.
