Fire Training: The fire accidents through gas lines will be a big accident. Because of the nature of the flammable gas and the burning nature of this gases. The small leakage will bring in a big accident in few second. The fire accidents reported till today is the gas fire accident will be the leading destroyer all over the world.
The gas pipelines are nowadays growing to be an essential thing in our day to day life. The gas lines run through the residential areas where many people reside and the accident will also result in a heavy death toll. But there are many preventive and precautionary measures regarding the fire accidents caused by the gas lines. There are some colorless and odorless gases that are used by the consumers.
In such cases the leakage can be detected by adding the odorant called Butyl-Mercapton, with an odor that is associated with the natural gas. The odor will be similar as the rotten egg smell. This can be easily identified. This will be added to colorless and odorless gas that is consumed by the public before the explosion occurs. Some times the odorant called thiophane can be added to the gas.
In mines the presence of the flammable gas like methane will be present. They have no odor. In such cases the sensors are used and the specially designed devices like Davy lamps can be used in order to avoid the ignition. The gas leakage will lead to a blast enough to damage a building but leave it standing. In these time of fire accidents the people will have minor injuries only. The gas can collect itself to cause a deadly explosion. This explosion will disintegrate few buildings around the source fire.
In some countries the natural gases are transported through the tankers and other vehicles. But in some grown countries they transport it through the pipe lines which are already planned and constructed. But in these cases of using pipelines, there should be a periodic inspection and maintenance. The oil and gas tankers are frequently inspected and they should be replaced often for effective and safety usage.
