Fire Fighting Equipment: What Is Best For You?

By:

There are many fire accidents happening around us these days. Thus, it is vital that we always protect ourselves and our loved ones. But the question is how do we do it? Well, the answer is easy. All that we have to do is to invest in a high-quality fire fighting equipment.

The most common type of fire fighting equipment that many of us are aware of is the fire extinguisher. The purpose of a fire extinguisher or also known as an extinguisher is to put out fire using pressure when triggered off by a mechanism or an operator. There are different types of fire extinguishers to put out fires of different materials. As such, you should first determine what types of materials are used at your home or office and select your extinguisher(s) based on it.

Another common type of fire fighting equipment is the hose. This equipment can also be widely seen around us in offices and schools. The purpose of the hose is to put out fire with the help of water. The hose can be fixed to any hose appliances during a fire accident to reduce the intensity level of the fire. There are many different sizes of hoses available on the market. The hose(s) have to be proportionate to your hose appliance(s) to ensure that it can be used in terms of an emergency. The bigger the hose, the faster the fire can be put out. However, a small hose can also be equally good if you can moderate the pressure of the water. This can be done by placing your fingers on the opening of the hose such that it closes about three quarters of it to moderate the pressure and ensure that the water reaches a wider range.

This fire fighting equipment can be used in your houses. However, it should be kept away from the reach of young children below the age of five to ensure their safety. Moreover, it is important to store this equipment in a cool, dry place to maximize its potential. For example, the possible area of fire accident in a house is the kitchen. As such, the fire fighting equipment such as a fire extinguisher should be kept near the kitchen and not in the kitchen. This would ensure that you can reach the fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire in time. Likewise, a hose should be kept near your house appliances such as your bathroom for easy accessibility.

Each household should at least have one fire fighting equipment for the benefit of your loved ones. Invest in one now for a better tomorrow. Do not be a victim of a fire accident!
